I thought of sharing this devotional reading because I find useful its message and prayer. I always ask Jesus for his guidance, to help me serve him and help others, as well as that I may be worthy of his grace. This reading was a perfect match of the guidance I ask for.
"Pay attention and turn your ear to the sayings of the wise; apply your heart to what I teach,"- Proverbs 22:17
Everybody should have a friend like Ralph. He can fix a lamp or a lawn mower, refinish furniture, and build bookshelves. All by himself he has transformed his garage into a workshop and completely remodeled his mother’s house. One day, marveling these results over coffee, I asked, “Ralph where did you learn to do all this? Who taught you-your father?” Thoughtfully he sipped his coffee, his blue eyes twinkling.”I never knew my father, “he said”. But I did meet a good carpenter a long time ago. And he still helps me. In fact, every time I have a problem, all I have to do is stop and ask him, "Teach me what I need to know”. And he does. This morning, for Instance, those boards just wouldn't work. But after I’d stopped and asked him, `what am I doing wrong?' The answer came: I was cutting them too short”.
The Ralph gave me the words of his own special prayer:
"Jesus stand beside me. Guide and direct my life.Teach me what I need to know.
Help me with my work. Let me serve you and others, That I may be worthy of God`s grace."
Ralph's special prayer has become a part of my own life now. I say it every morning and all day. Whenever I am anxious or confused about a situation, one phrase of the prayer comes to my rescue:
"Teach me what I need to know.” Of all the things Ralph has done to help me, his prayer has helped most of all.

Pensé en compartir esta lectura porque me encanto su mensaje y la oración. Siempre le pido a Jesús por su guía, que me ayude a servirle a Él y a ayudar a los demás, al igual de que yo sea digna de su gracia. Esta lectura fue una combinación perfecta de lo que siento y pido. Espero que le guste.
Todo el mundo debería tener un amigo como Ralph. Él puede arreglar una lámpara o una cortadora de césped, retocar el acabado de muebles, y construir estantes. Él a transformado su garaje en un taller y completamente remodelo la casa de su madre. Un día, nos tomábamos una taza de café y le pregunté: "Ralph, ¿dónde aprendiste a hacer todo esto? ¿Quién te enseñó-tu padre? "Cuidadosamente mientras sorbía su café y me miraba con sus ojos azules brillantes, contesto- " Yo nunca conocí a mi padre ", " Pero si conocí a un buen carpintero hace mucho tiempo. Y todavía me ayuda. De hecho, cada vez que tengo un problema, todo lo que tengo que hacer es parar y preguntarle:
"Enséñame lo que necesito saber". Y él lo hace. Esta mañana, por ejemplo, las tablas simplemente no me funcionaban. Pero después de que me detuve y le pregunté: '¿qué estoy haciendo mal?' La respuesta fue: yo las estaba cortando demasiado cortas".
Luego Ralph me enseño su oración especial:
"Jesús ponte a mi lado. Oriéntame y dirigir mi vida. Enseña lo que necesito saber y ayúdame con mi trabajo. Déjame servirte a ti, y ser de ayuda a los demás. Que yo sea digno de la gracia de Dios."
La oración especial de Ralph se ha convertido en parte de mi vida ahora. Yo la digo todas las mañanas y todo el día. Cada vez que estoy ansiosa o confundida acerca de una situación, una frase de la oración viene a mi rescate". Enséñame lo que necesito saber" De todas las cosas que Ralph ha hecho para ayudarme, su oración es lo que más me ha ayudado.
